Events Registration

Events hosted by the HBS Club of Pittsburgh can be attended by registered Members of the Club (and their guests) at a reduced rate.  Non-member alums and the general public are also invited to attend events that are not "Member Only" by paying a regular ticket price.  Proceeds are used to cover the cost of the event.

We had a well attended Member/Guest dinner at Bar Marco in September and an intriguing technology talk with Audrey Russo (President & CEO, Pittsburgh Technology Council) in October. This was followed in early November by a Members/Guests "happy hour" at the Pennsylvania Market where we were joined by the restaurant owner.  Then, the Club hosted a tour at the Millie's Ice Cream factory led by the company founder (and we all got to taste several ice cream flavors!!).

Our final event of the calendar year was with PNC Chief Economist (Emeritus) Stu Hoffman who gave us his 2023 Economic Forecast.  Dr. Hoffman has been providing his annual prognostications for the economy for 15 years (we've lost count!).

The first event actually in 2023 was a business talk with Astrobotic, a Pittsburgh based outer space commercialization company, and a museum tour at the new Moonshot Museum highlighting America's return to the Moon.  The event exceeded our expectations with 40 alums and guests attending!  The second event of the year was a tasting event of fine Scotch whiskeys at the Allegheny HYP Club led by an industry expert and one of our alums! Our third event was a business talk from HBS Alum Glen Meakem '91 who outlined his experiences as an entrepreneur, particularly in the  founding and building of FreeMarkets, a premier technology driven sourcing service for large companies  (which was eventually sold to Ariba).   Our Members "Happy Hour" on the "Ides of March"was at Spirits & Tales Brasserie in the heart of Oakland.

See our Club News page for a photo recap of this year's events.

And to celebrate that spring has truly arrived,  HBS alumni and their guests can join a bike ride to historic Dravo Cemetery on the Great Allegheny Passage trail on April 15th.  We have been invited along for the ride by the Harvard Club of Western Pennsylvania and the event will include light healthy refreshments and a brief talk about history of Dravo from the Elizabeth Township Historical Society.  The bike ride itself is 12 miles round trip (there is a much shorter walking option!)

We will be posting additional events as they develop.
