Melanie Werner Art Advisor and Curator

Melanie Werner is an art collector, curator and advisor who had a prominent gallery in Shadyside for many years but now splits time between Paris, Miami and (for this event) Pittsburgh.  She's going to walk through practical tips for collecting art and her "Top 10" things to look for when investing in artwork.  

Established in 2002, Galerie Werner Fine Art Advisory was formed by Melanie Werner while living in Paris. During that time, French impressionists and European modern masters were favored, and through today these periods remain the gallery’s sweet spot.  A decade later, the gallery expanded to assist clients seeking post-war, abstract expressionists, contemporary and credentialed mid-career and emerging artists. Nowadays, art placements are equally split between traditional 19th c. European and American paintings, post-war, modernist works, and celebrated contemporary artists.  Separating the advisory from the Pittsburgh gallery was a logical next step when the Palm Beach office was opened on Worth Avenue.

Melanie will be in Pittsburgh on Thursday, April 20th (5:30pm) to present a discussion on practical tips for art collecting for both emerging and seasoned art collectors.  The event is at the Allegheny HYP Club.
