About the event
The HBS Association of Pittsburgh will hold its Annual Meeting and Year End Social on Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Library of the Allegheny HYP Club. We are honored to have HBS Alumna and CEO of Campos, AJ Drexler as our special guest speaker. Ms. Drexler will share her experiences as an entrepreneur and provide insights from her detailed research on the cultural uniqueness of Pittsburgh past and present as well as the profoundly changing outlook for the future.
Ms. Drexler started her first entrepreneurial enterprise at the age of 29, owning three marketing and insights-related companies since then. Currently, she is leading the re-invention and scaling of Campos, a 25-year-old regional market research organization, into a national customer experience and brand planning firm. The company has offices in Pittsburgh and Chicago so far.
AJ is also a vocal advocate of women and minority entrepreneurialism and is actively engaged in helping to scale the Mansmann Foundation—a five-year-old non-profit that supports entrepreneurs in struggling or evolving communities—with the intent of building both community and next generation impact.
As an undergraduate at Boston College, AJ completed a masters program focused on an integrated knowledge of American social, intellectual and cultural history. She then transferred that perspective to business—working most of her career as a marketing and advertising strategist. She completed the OPM at HBS while in the early stages of scaling Campos.
Away from work, she is active with several non-profit causes, serving on boards for the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, and the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. She is a member of the Women Presidents' Organization (WPO) and volunteers with Powerlink.
In addition to AJ's talk, we will conduct brief business of the organization including the president's report, elections and any other membership votes (details to be distributed separately). Attendance is limited to members of the HBSAP and their registered guests. Registration is free and includes light food and one drink ticket. Cash bar will be available throughout the event. Arrivals begin at 5:00 pm.
